In Media Res: Triumvirate

Another 15-minute challenge, this time from Dinesh. God, I missed doing this. And the challengers-- as usual-- pick the most wondrous pictures as gauntlets to throw down.

In this case, I had a bit of a hard time trying to decide what picture to get from this site. However, I finally decided on this one:

The Green Man was lost.

It was cold in the City. He never liked it here. He missed the trees. He shivered in his coat of branches and leaves dropped dead, flashing like brown knives in the wind. Twigs broke under his feet.

HELLO.

The Green Man turned around to see a shadowed figure standing a meter before him.

"Come out to the light. It's so dark here."

ALRIGHT.

The figure took a step forward into the circle of light of a lamp post and he saw it was THE GRAY MAN, coated in dusty gray pants, dark gray coat, and faded gray shoes. Chalky gray hair lay like dead gray fish on his gray round head.

"I thought I was lost. You're late. Where were you?"

THE GRAY MAN didn't apologize nor even looked sorry but just stared back with blank gray eyes.

I HAVE A CLUE ON WHERE TO FIND THE MISSING THIRD POINT OF OUR TRIUMVIRATE.

"Where is he?"

HE IS NEAR. BUT WE HAVE TO GO TO HIS WORLD.

"Go to his... how come I have to be the one going to everyone's world? How come you people don't just go to my world?"

As The Green Man grumbled and rubbed a small bird chirping piteously in his breast jacket pocket, THE GRAY MAN turned to gesture a door open at the side of the building. As it did so, the door showed a scintillating field of grey and white, the color of television tuned to a dead channel.

COME.

And the two left to search for the one who is to come, the one called the Digital Man.

As proposed by Dinesh, here are the rules:

1. Click here and choose any image you like.

2. Compose your piece in less than 15 mins.

3. Post it to your blog.

4. I think for this round it might be interesting to read the piece without seeing the image first, so just provide a link to the image after the piece (note that since the website uses frames, you can get the URL for particular images by hovering over the thumbnails).

Anyone is welcome to try, yes?
