Banzai Cat Pimps, Scares Himself Silly

Er, a friend of mine told me that Fully-Booked's Inline magazine has a picture of me, probably because of the Gaiman award. Anyone see that? At the very least, am curious if it really does have my ugly mug in it.

Actually, I'm a bit miffed over this because I recently bought a couple of books from them last Thursday and they didn't give me a copy of their magazine. I know they give a copy if your purchase is more than five hundred bucks (but I could be wrong). *grumble grumble*

In the meantime... I was quite surprised that one book I had been looking forward to getting since last year is back on the Fully-Booked shelves: Max Brooks' World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War. (Interesting trivia: Max is actually the son of director-comedian Mel Brooks, he of movies Blazing Saddles, History of the World, Part 1 and Spaceballs.)

I'm sure everyone here knows my obsession/phobia over zombies and this book fits the bill. I perused parts of it last year (before they ran out of copies) and as it's written in a journalistic format, I found myself rather jittery afterwards. Given that I'm not used to being freaked out when I'm reading texts of horror stories, that's saying something.

(And just in case, anyone's wondering, the other book I bought was the mmpb of Chris Roberson's The Dragon's Nine Sons, which I've also been looking forward to. I swear, Roberson's new books always keeps hitting the right buttons for me.)

It's also available at Power Books.

Just now? Before the HB was but then it also disappeared. Looks like it sold pretty fast (relatively) last year.

It was in Mega Mall last week at least. In trade paperback. Also saw it earlier today at Trinoma (albeit in the young adult section).

I prefer Roberson's short fiction, at least based on my reading of The Dragon's Nine Sons. I'll check out his other novels though.

Heh looks like I gotta agree with you on the Dragon. Will post my review of the book soon but I still have hope for his novels.
