Welcome to the City of Ambergris Posted by Hello

What you see above is part of the front cover of Jeff Vandermeer's The City of Saints and Madmen.

However, it's too bad you can't see the whole piece of the Tor edition I recently bought. The top of the front cover to the bottom of the backcover (except for the art running through the middle-- which you can see here) details a traveler's first encounter with the City of Ambergris, a traveler who just so happens to have a copy of Vandermeer's book (which is highlighted as the book's title page).

It's a fascinating thing to look at-- something comparable to Mark Z. Danielewski's even weirder House of Leaves. And I love just holding the book.

And who said covers of fantasy/ science-fiction books are something to be ashamed of?
