Odds and Evens

Just a short post. Gotta leave early today from work to attend my elder brother's wedding.

Anyway, when I was a kid, I grew up loving the Peanuts cartoons. I mean, who can not love a cast that included a round-headed loser named Charlie Brown, his very cool beagle Snoopy, cranky Lucy, piano-playing Schroeder, precocious Linus, and the rest of the gang.

So I'm not surprised that they came out with a quiz like this:

cb
You are Charlie Brown! smile.... the world isn't as
bad as you think it is.... not everyone is out
to get you. Yet people can't help feeling sorry
for you... one day my friend everything will
get better....

what peanuts character are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

(Brought to you by the round mound of sound.)

In other news, Rick Klaw has a very informative article (in SFSite) on famous books that don't exist, including The Necronomicon by Abdul Alhazred of Damascus, The Princess Bride by S. Morgenstern, and The Book of Counted Sorrows by Stephen Crane.

(Thanks to Kraken for setting a silly cat straight on the Morgenstern thing first. Does that mean that the reputed sequel-- or the tale behind that tale-- isn't true either?)

Also from SFSite is a review of a-- based on the description-- surreal SF written by a Filipino about a Filipino. This one was published by HarperTempest, a YA imprint, and not a vanity effort.

Wow, Filipino SFF writers popping out everywhere.
