Gratuitious Weather Post
Everyone here seems to have already blogged on how hot this summer has been-- one of the hottest summers ever felt. (Okay, almost everyone.)
Reportedly, imperial Manila suffered its hottest day last Sunday (May 15) with the mercury soaring to 37.9 degrees Celsius around 2 p.m. and breaking a four-year-old record.
Obviously, I know that it's frigging hot. My office is at the port area in the capital city of Manila and the nearby sea-- together with the fact that the city of Manila is one of the most polluted-- makes going to work feel like I should be swimming to work instead.
Still, I've never really thought of posting about it. Why bother? Be one with the hot and humid environment. Internalize the discomfort of the dampness of your shirt. Ignore the beads of sweat speckling your arm. And drink lots of cold liquid.
Okay, so that's not working.
But look at the bright side: at least we're not having a heat wave like the one India is having. The reported heat wave has claimed 13 confirmed lives with its temperature of over 40 degrees Celsius (113 Fahrenheit) in Orissa. Meanwhile, some towns in the western part of the state have a temperature soaring as high as 46.6 degrees Celsius (116 Fahrenheit).
So JP, Dinesh, Ostrich, Finny (and whoever else is in the neighborhood): How are you people doing?
