What I Did during the May 14 National Polls
- Reaaaally early Monday morning: Went straight to office around 3 a.m.-- still without sleep-- to start up the newsflash.
- Learned the ropes on how to publish, given the re-launch of our site.
- Found out that though I know how to publish news items, I still don't know how to upload 'em on the site.
- Gave up trying to figure it out without techie help and took a nap for two hours around 5 a.m.
- Managed to call and wake up the chief tech around 8 a.m. and get the lowdown on how to upload my newsflash articles.
- Got used to the new way of publishing the newsflash as polling booths opened around 8 a.m.
- Found out around 12 noon that I've been disenfranchised (my name wasn't on the voters' list at the precinct) and that I couldn't vote.
- Took a nap around 3, woke up around 5. Stayed on board keeping track of the elections with my relief showing up around 6:35 p.m.
- Went home and crashed around 8 p.m.
And who said being an online editor was all fun and games?

That's a bummer. I think I should find out if I'm still on the electoral rolls now, before there's elections. Althugh, if you ask me, whoever wins it's still all down to kleptocracy.
Instead of napping, you could have finished your review!

jp: Heh that sucks alright. A lot of people also think that no matter who you vote for, nothing's going to change. But hell, I'm in the news business so I might as well contribute to the political events in the country, right?
gabe: Yow, that is something significant. Yes, I'm doing the review though something came up in the writing/publishing front that kinda bothered me. (Currently doing a post on it. Hold on...)
Btw, the Scalpel site looks grand with all the juicy stuff in it. :-)
