Check List

*wince*

No, I haven't done anything earth-shaking yet for this year. But I've got a list with writing deadlines set for this month: does that count?

(1) Must finish one story or two to submit for Dean's Philippine Speculative Fiction Volume 3, the deadline which is set for September 15. Dean challenged me to write a "hard SF" story and I have two in my head at the moment. Now if I can only put them down to paper finally.

(2) I just heard that The 2nd Philippine Graphic/Fiction Awards has begun again, submissions starting from September 1 and is up to October 31. Now I'm normally not much for nationwide contests like The Palanca but I joined this one last year and I don't mind trying my luck again this year.

(Which reminds me of a conversation I had with ramblingsoul at Chicken Boy in Xavierville wherein he was exhorting me to at least give the damn Palanca a try. Maybe someday. *winks*)

(3) From charles, I heard about this writing contest for an anthology of Southeast Asia literature which looks interesting. Is anyone trying out? The deadline is also for September 15.

Hmm... September 15? Good, there's still time to run around like a headless chicken. In the meantime, if my posts taper off for this month, now you know why...

Update: Oops. I forgot that the deadline for kyu's Christmas special for the December issue of Philippine Genre Stories was scheduled for October 5. Ah well, there goes that possibility. But then again, I've never been a Christmas person anyway...

fuhrer: Hehe feels like deja vu.

As for PGS, hah, am still doing the mystery story for kyu. So *breathes deeply* one story at a time...

cat: Well, BFL is located in a number of areas. Where do you live anyway? If I have it, I can give you the number of the nearest place. (Or even Roces branch itself.) :-)
