The blue, blue sea...

I admit that Boracay as a vacation spot is way too commercialized but at least the residents here are trying their best not to despoil the place. (Though last I heard the national government is still after the restaurants and shops here to fix their plumbing problems.)

Interesting enough, most of the people who live here have become environmentalists the hard way after suffering from waves on waves of tourists year-in and year-out. Some of them-- especially the foreigners who've transferred here-- still remember the time when giant turtles would come in to lay their eggs on the beach. Those are gone now.

Still, nothing beats their white sand or their long stretch of clear wading waters (something that beats Puerto Galera in Batangas hands down).
