Seen in the Wild

(This post is brought to you by The Give-A-Book-A-Home League.)

I can admit I'm not much an art person. But given how great some of the cover art that grace the books I read, I can certainly appreciate it.

Which is why I was amazed to see-- and almost bought-- John Picacio's book, The Cover Story: The Art of John Picacio, which I found in Booksale in Edsa Central for only 420 bucks.

Imagine that, 400 bucks for something that would probably cost a thousand or more.

So, any takers out there?

Wow, that's fantastic--in every sense of the term. If that was Palencar, maybe I'd spend that money, but for now, I think the Picacio has your name on it.

(Incidentally, can you still help me look for Smiley's People? Thanks!)

Oooh, Palencar. Now that's a juicy thought. Unfortunately, it looks like I may be the one to pick it up. Someone's gotta give these books a home, ya know? *sigh*

P.S. Will keep an eye out. Hardcover, right?

Paperback actually, but do let me know anyway if you see a hardcover.

I wish I could find the hardcover omnibus of Le Carre's Quest for Karla Trilogy (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Honourable Schoolboy, and Smiley's People). I certainly wouldn't mind doubling my books to have that.

whoa, you forgot to mention the intro's by Michael Moorcock (i know, it's on the cover jpeg, but, y'know, if you wanna sell something...)

that fact alone has me salivating, but sadly, it's beyond me budget at the moment.

dude, if you can afford it, keep it for yerself. that there's a find. (think of it as an investment: you can sell it after, if you really have to. nobody has to know how much you *really* paid for it, yeah? heh.)

(on a side note...damn beta blogger for making it messed up to post comments with a dial-up connection!)

eldritch: Will do. On the other hand, omnibuses are a rare find so I doubt I can hit paydirt with those.

skinny: Hehe been thinking about it and it sticks to my craw that something like should be bought 2nd-hand. And it's in good condition too, dammit.
